Desert Storm—the largest performance boating event in the western United States—will boil the waters of Lake Havasu for the 16th time April 26-30, 2016.

Produced by founder Jim Nichols of Lake Racer LLC in partnership with Jim Russell of Havasu-based DSM Events LLC, the event has now been dubbed the “Spectre Powerboats Desert Storm & Power in the Park Presented by Shugrues,” a nod to new title sponsor Spectre Powerboats, as well as continuing sponsor Shugrues family restaurant of Lake Havasu.

Desert Storm is expected to be bigger than ever before, with expanded activities, charity boat rides, a welcome party and charity auction, followed by the best performance boat street party in the nation. The huge poker run that follows will be enriched this year with an off-the-charts two-day beach party, Power in the Park Festival, which is open to the public. The PITP Festival will extend the street party as vendors and displays can move to Rotary Park for Friday and Saturday and include GN Boat Races, PWC Freestyle Demos, Burnout Contest and live music.

Finally, the Shootout event with is expected to draw record-setting high-speed runs, after which things will wrap up with a unique banquet with awards and prize ceremony at the continuing PITP Festival.
Desert Storm attracts the very coolest speedboats in the country to the desert oasis of Lake Havasu. There locals mingle with the elite of the high speed luxury boat crowd for a weekend packed with the very best of everything in the performance boating industry.
