Race World Offshore, producer of this week's World Championship offshore races in Key West, has pulled the plug on Wednesday's racing as subtropical storm Nicole approaches the Florida Peninsula and Lower Keys.

RWO Race Director Rodrick Cox said all four races scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 9, have been canceled for safety reasons. The National Weather Service is predicting improving weather conditions on Thursday, Nov. 10, and through the upcoming weekend.

World championship racing will resume on Friday, Nov. 11, and Sunday, Nov. 13.
