Produced by Race World Offshore, the 2026 edition of the XINSURANCE Clearwater Offshore Nationals came to an exciting conclusion Sunday after two days of no-holds-barred action. Twelve classes—including five bracket classes—threw down for a lively competition under sunny skies and a light breeze. What follows are the unofficial results and are subject to change.
DAY 1: Saturday kicked off with bracket classes 6 and 7 running alongside a pair of Vee Limited (featuring Ultimate One Designs-built "bat boat" hulls), running six laps. The boat to beat in Class 6 was Moderation, piloted by Michael Lang and Johnny Saris; they were followed by Bad Attitude (with Ricky Taylor and D.J. Farr) and Ride Legal Velocity (Bob Spitulski and Scott Mccormick). However, following the race, both Bad Attitude and Ride Legal were found to have exceeded their breakout speed of 70 mph, moving Islandscapes (Cassie Dziatlik and Jaime Trujillo) up to second place and demoting Bad Attitude to third.
The Class 7 checkered flag was captured by Brad Christopher and Connor Langheim in Dirt Legal/XINSURANCE; they were followed by Team Progression/Redrum (with Lou LaFerrara and Bobby Barneschi) in second and Bad Yacht Management (Martin Hazan and Kelby Myers) in third. However, Bad Yacht Management suffered a "no data" penalty, banishing it to last place. Pist'n Broke (Jeff Pritchard and Scottie Young) were promoted to third. Two boats faced off in Vee Limited: Team Legend (Jeff Zimmerman and David Bruchis), which finished ahead of Team Shorgasm/Mike's Marine Care (Nichole Budnick and Mike Ryan).
After some rapid-fire qualifying runs, six Super Cat competitors joined the course on Saturday for an eight-lap race with six Class 2 (aka Factory Stock) boats. Super Cat's Rob Unnerstall and Casey Boaz won the pole position in CR Racing with a time of 2:35.25, followed by Dirty Money, CJ Grant/Graydel, Howe 2 Live and EWB Racing; XINSURANCE did not make the qualifying run. When the race began, Dirty Money (Brit Lilly and Bill Pyburn) quickly took the lead and held onto it. CR Racing finished second and and CJ Grant/Graydel (Chris Grant and Jay Muller) was third, followed by How 2 Live (Michael Howe and Shaun Torrente) in fourth. XINSURANCE pulled off the course with a mechanical issue toward the end of the race.
In Class 2 qualifying, Say Less MF turned in the fastest lap (at 2:51.47), followed by Montlick Injury Attorneys, Jackhammer, Lake Wylie Racing, M•CON/Monster Energy/Hurt! App, and Good Boy Vodka. But in the official race, Logan Adan and Giovanni Carpitella were unstoppable in Montlick, capturing the win. Tyler Miller and Myrick Coil finished second in M•CON/Monster Energy/Hurt! App, and Lake Wylie Racing (Joe Spoloric and Garrett Coonrod) finished third.
A field of seven Class 1 competitors then took center stage. Miller and Coil were back in their bigger Monster Energy/M•CON Skater, and this time they had no intention of settling for second. The boys pulled off an immaculate performance, capturing the win. They were followed by Marine Technology/GC Racing (Willy Cabeza and John Tomlinson) in second and Outta Pocket Racing (Kevin Birrell and Billy Moore) in third.
Saturday's eight-boat Modified Vee battle was the only problematic race of the day. Clouatre Cartel Offshore Racing (Dustin Clouatre and Owen Buis) had a terrific start and charged ahead to take the lead—but after the first two laps, a red flag stopped the action when NMBRV Resort (Kirk Hanna and Mark Rinda) caught fire; it was quickly put out and the boat was towed off the course. Meanwhile, Relentless went out when driver Travis Petco sustained an injury that required medical attention; fortunately, he check out OK and he said he'd be back for the class's second race on Sunday. Racing quickly continued, but shortly after the restart, Fuel 1 Racing (Tom Crowley and Danny Crank) spun out, and the boat's transom and engines were submerged. That led to a second red flag, and officials called the race as the boat was towed; the pilots checked out OK. Speed Marine (Kyle Miller and Jay Wohltman) was ruled to have finished in first place, while Fastboys (Dylan Myers and Ken Bolinger) was second, and Clouatre Cartel Offshore Racing was third.
Saturday's racing ended with two Super Stock bouts, split into four laps and five laps. In the field of 16 competitors, Raymarine (Cole Leibel and Gary Ballough) was victorious. In the first race, Wozencraft (Richard Tschida and Julian Maldonado) and Team Bermuda (David Selley and Steven Bridges) were second and third, respectively; in the second race, Bad Decisions/XINSURANCE (Cameron Turk and Owen Buis) was second and Team Bermuda repeated its third-place finish.
DAY 2: Much of Sunday's activity consisted of makeup races because the second day of August's Michigan City event was cancelled because of weather. The first makeup race featured a reunion of Modified Vees. Once again, Miller and Wohltman were victorious in Speed Marine, and Fastboys repeated its second-place finish. El Bandido Tequila (Brit Lilly and Stephen Miklos) was third. Sadly, Clouatre Cartel Offshore Racing spun out and did not finish the race.
Running with the Mod Vees were three Cat 300 entries: Wicked/Lakeside Motorsports (Michael Bethan and Mike Bethan), Jackhammer (Connor Toomey and Connor Langheim) and Pantera Mike Racing (Michael McColgan and Jason Govatos). Jackhammer took the checkered flag; Pantera Mike was second and Wicked was third.
Bracket classes then returned to the course to run alongside Vee Limiteds. OC Racing finished first in Bracket 2, Team Woody Racing was victorious in Bracket 3, Simmons Marine took the checkered flag in Bracket 4, RUFSTR was the leader in Bracket 5, Moderation won Bracket 6, and Redrum was first in Bracket 7.
Sunday also featured more racing by SuperCat and Class 2, running simultaneously. CR Racing grabbed the lead in SuperCat, with Dirty Money and C.J. Grant giving chase. In lap 8, EWB Racing barrel-rolled, landing upright, and a red flag was called, stopping the race. CR Racing took the checkered flag, followed by Graydel and Howe 2 Live.
In Class 2, M•CON/Monster Energy/Hurt! App was the early leader, followed by Say Less MF and Good Boy Vodka. However, Montlick overtook them and was in first place when the red flag was called. Monster Energy Hurt! App was awarded second place and Say Less MF was third.
When Class 1 competitors returned to the course, it was a virtual carbon-copy of Saturday's podium. Monster Energy/M•CON was again the leader; Marine Technology/GC Racing was second and Outta Pocket was third. They were followed by XINSURANCE, WHM Motorsports, Club Car Wash and Discrete Offshore.
Super Stock's Michigan City makeup race served as the weekend's big finale. Luis Martins and Nick Imprescia took the win in Nuff Said/Team Bermuda, while Celsius (Chris Hopgood and Jay Muller) and Team Bermuda (David Selley and Steven Bridges) battled for second place. Celsius grabbed second by a nose, but Team Bermuda's third-place finish was all it needed to lock up the Super Stock National Championship. (Other National Championships were not announced at the awards ceremony.)
