The highly anticipated Tickfaw 200 Poker Run is just two weeks away, and organizers are preparing for what promises to be a spectacular event. This nonprofit fundraiser will take place at Blood River Landing at The Fun House in Springfield, LA, April 30 to May 2, bringing together participants and spectators from across the country for an unforgettable weekend.
Proceeds from the event benefit a variety of local nonprofit organizations, including TARC, which serves individuals with special needs, as well as the Sheriff’s Christmas Crusade, among many others. Tickfaw 200 proudly supports initiatives that make a meaningful impact throughout the community.
Each evening will conclude with an exciting lineup of entertainment beginning Thursday night. Kicking things off is a special Louisiana Night, featuring participation from numerous local fairs and festivals. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample signature foods that highlight what each event is known for, creating a true celebration of Louisiana culture.
Thursday night’s entertainment will feature Grammy Award-winning Zydeco artist Rockin’ Dopsie, known for his performances at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and his appearance in the film Road House. The weekend continues with high-energy performances by Chee Weez and Parish County Line, ensuring great music and entertainment throughout the event.
Organizer Glen Alack, who took full control of the event last year, is pleased by how the event is shaping up. "It's going very well," he told Speedboat. "I've got a bigger group coming from Australia this year, as well as some participants from Canada. Everything is lining up like it's supposed to be. Everything looks good."
Alack says the 2025 event helped educate him about the massive amount of work that goes into producing a poker run of this magnitude. "It's all about timing," he says. "I didn't realize how much time needs to go into planning everything. Last year, we found ourselves scrambling at the last minute to get things done. Fortunately, I have some great committees helping out, and they do incredible work."
