Some boats turn heads with their speed. Others tell you something about the person behind the wheel. Outerlimits Powerboats brings those experiences together, creating individually crafted performance boats that reflect an owner's taste, personality, and sense of adventure.
In Florida, where boating is as much a lifestyle as a passion, Outerlimits is bringing that experience closer to home. With Florida as an expanded territory for the brand, its official dealerships in Fort Lauderdale and Miami offer enthusiasts and prospective owners the opportunity to discover Outerlimits, explore custom design possibilities, and order boats that reflect their individual vision, with manufacturer-backed warranty coverage and service support. This growing presence is part of CMC Boat Group's broader expansion strategy and long-term vision for Outerlimits.
The brand will celebrate this new chapter on Oct. 22 with an intimate cocktail reception at the new Outerlimits Florida dealership in Fort Lauderdale, offering a unique opportunity to experience the Outerlimits SC37 and SC46 catamarans firsthand and connect with the people behind the boats. Joining the celebration will be Steve Curtis MBE, the legendary British offshore powerboat racer and eight-time Class 1 World Champion, who helped develop the SC37 alongside the Outerlimits team.
Following its recent acquisition by CMC Boat Group, led by marine industry veterans Wally Castro and Scot Conrad, Outerlimits, now owned by CMC Boat Group, is investing in a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility under development near its existing factory in Bristol, Rhode Island. The investment supports the brand's future growth, while the official Outerlimits dealerships in Fort Lauderdale and Miami bring the ownership experience closer to customers across Florida.
"For years, people in Florida have known the Outerlimits name and admired the boats, but many saw the brand as something out of reach," said Wally Castro, co-owner of CMC Boat Group. "We want to bring that experience closer: the opportunity to sit down with someone who understands how you boat, build something around your preferences, and have a relationship that continues after delivery. For me, this is also personal. I grew up dreaming of owning an Outerlimits. Becoming part of the company’s future carries an incredible sense of pride and responsibility."
A Personal Canvas on the Water
In Florida, where art, architecture, fashion, and life on the water regularly meet, an individually designed boat offers another way to express a point of view. For Outerlimits owners, that expression takes shape through color, upholstery, cockpit details, power choices, and independently commissioned exterior artwork. A paint scheme might be bold and graphic, understated and refined, or built around an idea that holds personal meaning. The result is a boat with a recognizable identity, and an owner’s unmistakable signature.
It is a natural fit for Florida’s creative spirit, where individuality and luxury go hand in hand. Outerlimits brings these worlds together through a product appreciated not only for how it performs, but also for how it is made and what it says about its owner.
Founded by Mike Fiore in 1993, Outerlimits has spent more than three decades combining offshore performance, handcrafted detail, and luxury. Its eight record-setting achievements reflect the engineering and craftsmanship behind each build, from performance-focused hull designs and advanced composite construction to precision rigging and meticulous finishing. That competitive heritage shapes a highly personal approach to boatbuilding, where structural integrity and individual expression come together.
“Years of racing and building boats teach you to appreciate the details: how a boat responds, how it’s finished, and how it feels when you take the wheel,” said Scot Conrad, co-owner of CMC Boat Group and owner of SLT Collection. “Here in Florida, we have an opportunity to put customers closer to that experience, to explore the boats firsthand, tell us what matters to them, and work with a team that shares their passion for getting every detail right.”
