After displaying its incredible C4000 catamaran at the Mercury Racing Sea Trials last month, Mystic Powerboats is gearing up to tour the country's biggest powerboating events—including, for the first time, the Tickfaw 200 run at the end of April.

Mystic owner John Cosker tells Speedboat that the builder's latest C4000 demo boat was launched only a day before the Tuesday before it left the factory in Deland, FL, to travel to Miami (where the Miami Boat Show was simultaneously occurring). "I believe we've done this event with Mercury Racing since they started doing it," he says. "It's a fantastic event. The thing I like most about it is that people can see a pretty high concentration of catamarans there, and they can ride in all the different brands the same day, back to back, in the same water and really get a feel for the pluses and minuses of each manufacturer. It's the best way to see which model best suits their needs."

Cosker brought a C4000 cat to the event last year, and an M4200 center console model the year before.

"This latest C4000 actually has a lot of new features on it," Cosker says. "We always try things on our new demos. This one has one of the new Garmin wide screens off the left side of the helm, with a rear-view camera. I realized I wanted that on the boat after running on Lake Powell last year, so that's standard on the boat now. Also, it has heated and cooled helm seats in it; that's an option on the boats now."

The boat will depart today to head to the Palm Beach International Boat Show (set for March 25-29), where the C4000 will be joined by an M5200, Mystic's largest center console. "We usually bring two boats to Palm Beach," Cosker says. "The show is growing, so we may start bringing more boats there in the future." Meanwhile, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show continues to be the most lucrative for Mystic. "I think that's our best show," he says. "We typically bring all of our models there."

Next month, Mystic will attend the Fort Myers Offshore poker run (April 25) with the C4000 and the M4200. After that, he'll head to the Tickfaw 200 run, set for April 30 to May 2. "We've never been to Tickfaw," Cosker says, "but some really good Mystic owners have invited us for years to go there. So this year, we're going to see what it's all about."
