The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) is bringing a familiar name from the world of high-energy action sports to the docks this season.
IHRA announced today that Monster Energy has signed on as the "Official Energy Drink" of the IHRA Offshore Racing Series, adding one of the most recognizable brands in performance sports to the organization’s growing offshore racing platform.
The partnership will debut at the St. Pete Powerboat Grand Prix, scheduled for March 27-29 in St. Petersburg, FL, where Monster Energy will roll out fan activation, waterfront branding, and exclusive energy beverage rights throughout the race weekend.
For longtime offshore fans, the move marks the continuing support from the unmistakable brand with the claw. Monster Energy first made waves in the sport in November, 2022 when they announced their sponsorship of the M-CON offshore race teams in Pro Class 1 and Super Cat Class, fielded by powerhouse champion throttleman/driver duo of Tyler Miller and Myrick Coil. Their black and green boats became instant fan favorites, bringing Monster’s iconic energy to offshore racing and proving the sport’s natural fit with the brand’s high-adrenaline identity.

Now, Monster Energy’s return arrives as IHRA continues to build momentum around its national offshore racing series.
“We’re excited to welcome Monster Energy to the IHRA Offshore Racing Series,” said Leah Martin, President of the International Hot Rod Association. “Monster Energy represents the adrenaline, performance, and lifestyle that define offshore racing. Launching this partnership at the St. Pete Powerboat Grand Prix is the perfect way to kick off an exciting season for racers and fans alike.”
Under the agreement, Monster Energy receives exclusive energy drink category rights across IHRA Offshore Racing Series events. The brand will be integrated into race weekends through on-site activations, promotional visibility, and fan engagement experiences designed to bring Monster’s signature energy directly to the waterfront.
“Offshore powerboat racing represents everything Monster Energy stands for—speed, power, and pushing limits,” said Dave Gowland, Vice President of Sports Marketing for Monster Energy. “IHRA is building something exciting with the Offshore Racing Series, and we’re proud to support the racers and fans who make this sport so unique.”

The IHRA Offshore Racing Series features some of the fastest race boats on the water competing at premier waterfront venues around the country, blending elite offshore competition with a festival-style race weekend atmosphere for fans.
With Monster Energy in the mix—and the season opener in St. Petersburg—the IHRA Offshore Racing Series is poised to elevate the race fan event experience to the next level.
