In the wake of much excitement this year, the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Executive Board of Directors has grown in both number and great passion in 2025. In addition to its current members—comprising Shootout President Mark Maasen (2024-present), Vice President Don Silva, Treasurer Connie Weyer, Secretary Diana Dorhauer, Taylor Scism, Brad Harrington, Shane Landis and Ken Lawler—the Board of Directors has added Myrick Coil, Chris Wilson and Adrienne Mills.
Myrick Coil, a 24-year veteran performance boat racer at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, is employed by Performance Boat Center, a long-time sponsor of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. Coil says that the Shootout itself has had an immense impact on his life, and it is the reason why he is a Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Bob Morgan Memorial Hall-of-Famer, Top Gun victor, UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship Series winner, and has chosen to call the Lake
his home for more than 20 years.
In 1999, Coil traveled to the Lake of the Ozarks with a friend in late August and by mere happenstance, they stumbled upon the Shootout when it took place at the former Shooters 21. He shared his dream of moving here with his mom, who had previously taken a Yellow Pages phone book home to Illinois from their Rocky Mount, Missouri, lake home, and she used it to sign her son up for marine mechanical classes at the Lake of the Ozarks. Five days later, Coil was sitting in that class and living in Missouri, eating baked potatoes and chicken breasts on a George Foreman Grill for the next year until he graduated from the Lake Career & Technical Center with his certifcation in Marine Service Technology.
That was a long year, he says, but he wouldn't change it for the world. In addition to his duties as a Shootout Board member, Coil has tested the new race course along the Grand Glaize Arm multiple times since last fall, all the while providing much-needed feedback in regard to safety and overall functionality. Alongside the Shootout Board’s president and executive director, he met with Missouri Lieutenant Governor David Wasinger in the Spring of 2025, thereby helping to secure the iconic reappearance of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Lieutenant Governor’s Cup in 2025.
Coil is married to Missi and together, they have four children: Preston (16), Jaxon (10), Camden (6), and Kennadie (12).
Chris Wilson of The Wilson Family Foundation—Chris is known by many frst responders across the Lake of the Ozarks for his continuous philanthropy. Wilson, a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, has spent much of his life blending professional success with strong community involvement. After attending Woodberry Forest School in Virginia, he returned to Winston-Salem for college, where he majored in Communications at Wake Forest University. Chris is married to Kerri Wilson, and together they have three daughters: Anna Frances, a sophomore at NYU, Ava, a sophomore at Colorado State University, and Helen, a high school junior with dreams of attending the University of North Carolina.
With 31 years of experience in the retail automotive industry, Chris currently serves as the Executive Manager/Operating Partner at Van Chevrolet/Cadillac/Subaru in Kansas City, a position that he has held since relocating from Minneapolis four years ago. Kerri works with the team at LO Profle Magazine at the Lake. The Wilson family’s connection to the Lake of the Ozarks began in 2021 when they were introduced to the area by Kerri who is originally from Springfield, MO. They purchased a condominium in 2023 and soon after, their current Lake of the Ozarks home at the 13-mile mark in Sunrise Beach, which has since become a cherished retreat. Passionate about giving back, Chris and Kerri have become dedicated to supporting local causes through The Wilson Family Foundation, which aids nonproft organizations, frst responders, and community entities. Recent contributions have included support for the First Responder Open golf tournament, Wake for Warriors, the Sunrise Beach Fire and Police Departments, and the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. Outside of work, Chris and Kerri enjoy spending time on the water, hosting friends and family at their Lake home, and continuing their eforts to make a positive impact on their community.
Adrienne Mills is a registered nurse who currently serves as the associate vice president of the Ancillary Division at Lake Regional Health System. Adrienne is also the co-owner of Elite Roofng and Siding with her husband, Jon, and brother-in-law, Matt. As well as being longtime fans and patrons of the Shootout’s annual host of events, they are giving sponsors.
The Mills family has had a secondary home at the Lake of the Ozarks since their children were young, and they have always enjoyed watching or attending the annual races. Having attended the Shootout since before they were married, Jon and Adrienne fell in love with the event and have rarely missed a year of viewership and support. In 2018, they purchased a secondary home in Lake Ozark and the more time that they spent in the Lake area, the more they fell in love with it. In 2022, they moved to the Lake of the Ozarks full-time and became local business owners.
Several years ago, Adrienne met Shootout Executive Director Leah Martin at the annual Mini Shootout where her son was racing his RC boat. After visiting and inquiring about how they could become more involved, Adrienne continued to learn more about the Shootout’s federal not-for-proft organization while increasing her family’s participation across various events throughout the year. As local business owners, becoming a sponsor of the Shootout made great sense to Jon and Adrienne: “We have always loved the events and want to be part of supporting the community that we live and work in, so the Shootout is a wonderful way to combine all of those things.” Additionally, working at Lake Regional Hospital only strengthens Adrienne’s passion for working with the Shootout’s team, as the hospital itself works with and is a recipient of the events’ efort each year. Together, Jon and Adrienne have two children: Addison (15) and Clint (13).
As is the collective goal of each member of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Executive Board of Directors, both longstanding and new, it is the shared hope that 2025 will be yet another record-breaking and unforgettable year for all at the Lake of the Ozarks and beyond.
