Get ready for a thrilling weekend at the 2025 Lake Powell Challenge, set to take place Sept. 18–21 at Antelope Point Marina in Page, AZ. This annual poker run, a staple for performance boating enthusiasts, combines high-speed adventure with jaw-dropping scenery and a heartfelt mission to raise funds for charity. With Lake Powell’s stunning red rock canyons and crystal waters as the backdrop, this year’s event promises to be bigger and better, with an expected 50 boats and 300 attendees ready to make waves for a good cause.
After a triumphant return in 2024 following a pandemic-induced hiatus, the Lake Powell Challenge is back in full force. “This year, we have about 50 boats and 300 people,” says event planner Amber McDaniel. “Word of mouth and building relationships with our sponsors, combined with Lake Powell’s unique scenery, is what gets new people coming—it’s an easy sell.” This year’s beneficiary, America’s Mighty Warriors, will receive proceeds from a packed schedule of events, including a new Red Carpet Gala and a lively auction.
The event kicks off Thursday with a Welcome Sponsors Social at the RV Park, setting a festive tone with a silent auction opening. Friday brings a Sponsor Beach Party and the vibrant Club Powell Disco Night, featuring DJ Serventi. Saturday is the main event: the Charity Run to Rock Creek Bay, where powerboats from DCB, Skater, and a surge of center consoles will race across the lake. “DCB is coming, so there’ll be a bit of a DCB invasion,” McDaniel notes, highlighting the diverse fleet. The evening wraps with a Red Heritage Performance, the Red Carpet Gala at the Upper Enclosed Pavilion, and the crowd-favorite Dueling Pianos Fundraiser. Sunday offers a relaxed farewell with a houseboat and slip checkout.
The Lake Powell Challenge has a storied history of raising significant funds for its beneficiaries. This year, the focus shifts to America’s Mighty Warriors, an organization dedicated to honoring U.S. troops, veterans, and Gold Star families by providing programs that enhance their quality of life, resiliency, and recovery from the impacts of service and loss. This year, XINSURANCE is the event's top sponsor. From the roar of engines to the camaraderie of boaters, the event embodies the spirit of giving back while celebrating the boating lifestyle. Don’t miss this unforgettable weekend of speed, scenery, and support for a worthy cause.
