Fairfield, Ohio – October 2025 — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) is turning up the heat and going wide open throttles as its expansion into powerboat racing surges ahead. Building on the momentum of its 2025 debut, IHRA is proud to announce a $250,000 purse for the Race World Offshore Key West Championship.

Racers and VIPs will enjoy exclusive IHRA hospitality on the Outer Mole, creating a first-class experience that celebrates competition, camaraderie, and community — hallmarks of the IHRA brand.

The IHRA also confirmed a minimum $1,000,000 purse for the 2026 Offshore Powerboat Racing Season, in addition to dedicated tow fund support to assist teams traveling to events. Race site details and schedules will be announced soon, with competitions planned at premier destinations across North America.

“This is the start of something extraordinary,” said Darryl Cuttell, IHRA Owner and CEO. “We’re not just racing — we’re reviving a movement. Faith, family, and freedom built this sport, and we’re honoring that legacy by investing back into our racers.”

“Technology, logistics, and safety will be at the heart of this next era,” said Carl McBride, IHRA Chief Technology Officer. “Our goal is to give every team the tools, data, and consistency needed to elevate competition and ensure offshore racing continues to grow on a global scale.”

“This marks the future of offshore racing,” said Ray Lee, Publisher of Speedboat Magazine. “IHRA’s leadership is creating a platform where racers and fans alike can experience the highest level of competition and entertainment — on the water and on screen.”

“We’re raising the standard for professional offshore racing,” added Leah Martin, IHRA Powerboat Racing Executive. “This new structure gives racers the support they deserve and fans an unmatched viewing experience across every venue and broadcast.”
