MYCO to Supply Trailers for DCB’s New M37R Catamaran

Bradenton, FL-based MYCO Trailers, a world leader in custom, all-welded boat trailers, has forged a deal with DCB Performance Boats to supply trailers for DCB’s new M37R catamarans—the first of which is nearing completion.

DCB, of El Cajon, CA, has been keeping Speedboat posted on the progression of its newest model, sharing photos of each phase of the boat’s creation. In the latest portfolio of images, the M37R is seen as a bare hull atop one of MYCO’s specially designed trailer built for saltwater applications. The M37Rs will be powered by twin Mercury Racing 450R outboards.

DCB President Jeff Johnston told Speedboat that the company has taken deposits on the first six M37Rs, the first of which is going to a customer in Lake Havasu who may take the boat to Catalina Island, off the California coast, and possibly to some of Stu Jones‘ Florida Powerboat Club poker runs.

MYCO has delivered OEM trailers to DCB in the past, but being on opposite coasts probably makes the boatbuilder their most far-flung client. “We periodically send stuff out to them,” says MYCO’s Jon Smiley. “There’s always the challenge of the additional freight to get our products out to the West Coast; that’s an obstruction that we face. However, the MYCO legacy stands out, and people want that. So we’re finding more and more that high-end clients like DCB are still demanding the best of the best trailers. We’re working to be able to at least provide that option to DCB customers in the future as well.”

While the MYCO products that will trailer the M37Rs are not a new design, they will feature various West Coast touches. “Jeff is very particular about what he wants on there, so he is in close communication with our engineers,” Smiley says. “So they’ve gone back and made some slight aesthetic changes to it to give it that West Coast appearance—usually involving lights and things of that nature.”
